we were in a valley, it rained... and we found out where the rivers water comes from firsthand.
We enjoyed a beautiful weekend hiking the Pinhoti trail. We did 9 miles of tough (but fun) hiking on Day 1, enjoyed a relaxing evening at camp, and then finished it out on Sunday with a little over 2 miles. It was a good prep hike for Philmont which is 6 short weeks away! We also enjoyed having baby Arthur join us and provide some entertainment.
We had a fantastic time camping at Eagle Point Railroad. It's located in Dunlap, TN and is only open to members and civic groups like Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Their trains and tracks are built on a 1:8 ratio. There are 4 miles of tracks that take a little over an hour to explore. It was truly an amazing place to visit and the people were so open and welcoming. The weather was fantastic and not sure we could have asked for anything more. The boys also put in some service areas cleaning up fallen branches in the camping area. Those that went are hoping the boys put this on the calendar for next year too!
