For our visit, we were able to work on requirements for the "Electronics" or "Game Design" merit badge. We were given a tour of the facility and saw 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC mill in action. The instructors were very knowledgeable and the staff was helpful. The atmosphere is laid back and open for creativity! The feedback from the boys was very positive and everyone had fun.
The instructors did complete the Boy Scouts Youth Protection and Merit Badge Counselor paperwork. Now other troops can take advantage of Mindgear Labs. They just opened a 2nd location at Lowe Mill in December, which compliments the location we visited in Madison. They can also help Scouts work on other merit badges such as electricity, robotics, graphic arts, and movie making to name a few.
Visit their website for more information about what they offer, camps for kids, teens, and adults, and membership. If you are interested in your Pack/Troop/Crew visiting, give them a call to get more information on pricing.
